About Us

Ivy & Bird opened its doors in December of 2009 to the sounds of jewellery creation, sewing machines and metres of fabric being cut. To say the least, not your average New Farm/Fortitude Valley gift and homewares store.  Finally something different, totally unique and not done before. A once dying tradition of sewing & crafty things talked about by our mothers and grandmothers, now brought back to life in the heart of a suitably evolving part of our beautiful city.

Here we aspire to create and hand-make as much as possible in our mezzanine studio. What we can't make ourselves, we stock locally created items by the many talented artists that surround us. We also search far and wide to bring you different and amazing pieces for your home, for your gift giving and for you. Spanish hand made shoes, jewellery from Israel, America, India, Thailand, Turkey and Australia. Aboriginal Artist Cushions, Fair Trade hand woven baskets from Bangladesh, all sitting alongside our fabrics and patterns from Japan, America & our favourite Liberty of London......
